The Wisconsin Alliance for Arts Education is an organization that promotes arts education for all students in Wisconsin pre K- 12th grades by:

Advocating for pre K-12 sequential arts education

Currently, the WAAE has entered into a partnership with Arts Wisconsin to survey the state of arts education in Wisconsin. This survey will help arts education advocates across the state to determine where children are not receiving adequate arts education and begin advocating for changes.

Promoting sharing of school and community resources

The WAAE fosters partnerships between all of the arts disciplines and community arts groups through partnerships with other arts education organizations and organizations that offer arts education opportunities out side of the school day.

Currently, the WAAE offers a program that helps to train local artists to work in schools in order to enrich their arts education experiences.

Integration of the arts with other disciplines

The WAAE believes that the arts can benefit students only when they are taught as disciplines and integrated with other subjects throughout the curriculum. Through the integration of the arts with all subjects students learn the creative and innovative thinking skills necessary to be productive members of an economy that values creativity and innovation.

Currently, the WAAE is working with schools throughout Wisconsin to develop and disseminate best practices in arts integration.
